More New York Fun!

Wanted to post a couple more photos from our recent trip to BEA in New York.

How about this fun one of our friends from Boxer Books?

It's on the outdoor terrace at the Peninsula Hotel.  We highly recommend this spot!

And here's one of Clair looking back from her lawn chair on Broadway and 42nd!

The New York City Transportation Commission has created a pedestrian-friendly area for parts of Broadway that is garnering fabulous reviews.  No cars, lawn chairs... how about that?! 

This dynamic idea has changed the whole tenor of N.Y.  Somewhere with a different sound (no cars), a slower pace, and an opportunity to interact with others who are also taking a break from the normal pace of the city. 

We do enjoy the hustle and bustle of this great city, but we also enjoy this pedestrian-friendly concept.

BEA 2009

We're back from Book Expo and we want to thank all the many children's booksellers, teachers, and librarians who stopped by our booth and squeezed our dolls.

Particular favorites among the new items were

     Bats at the Beach/Bats at the Library,

Scaredy Squirrel,

Splat the Cat, and of course the new Skippy Hand Puppet. 

We enjoyed talking with you, hearing your ideas, and learning more about the ways you use our dolls in your work.

We saw lots of old friends (including a giant Olivia),       made a few new ones, and picked up a few great new books to read (my daughter somehow finished Catching Fire -- the sequel to The Hunger Games -- by 10:00 p.m. after I gave it to her at 6 a.m. that day.  And she was at school from 7:30 to 3 and then hanging out with a friend until 6!).

Our new catalog is mailing this week and our new items will be up on the website in a few days.  Check back soon!
